Amazing Grace: John Newton & Olney – 17th Feb – 27th March

by Cowper and Newton Museum

This exhibition finishes on 27/03/2026

The 2026 season in the Three Hares Gallery @ the Cowper & Newton Museum opens with a free to enter temporary exhibition from the Cowper & Newton Museum which explores how the town of Olney became the home of the hymn known around the world as ‘Amazing Grace’.  Now that our touring pop-up exhibition has returned home, we have combined it with further research and display items to bring more of the story even further to life.

Come and visit to delve into the town of Olney in the 1700s, gain further insight into how Newton’s life is woven into the hymn, and explore the music with which it has been paired over the years.
Films made for the 250th anniversary of Amazing Grace are also available to view.
