Indigo Dye and Shibori Stitch Day

Indigo Dye and Shibori Stitch Day

Jane has years of experience with textile arts and there is nothing more delightful on a summers day than an indigo dye workshop. Come along and enjoy the magical dye and create your own lovely fabrics. No experience needed, just a love of creativity and working with fabrics. If you can thread a needle, do a simple running stitch and peg folds in fabric, this course is just for you. Jane has lovely sample fabrics to inspire you and there is plenty of time in the day to try different techniques.
Come join us for a hands-on experience at the Cowper and Newton Museum with local textile artist Jane Charles, inspired by the new Dye Garden and antique lace collection in the museum. Learn the ancient art of indigo dyeing and shibori stitching in this interactive workshop. Dive into the world of vibrant blues and intricate patterns as you create your own unique fabrics. No experience necessary, just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! Spaces are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot now.
  • £70 per person
  • Fabrics, threads and needles are provided.
  • Bring a packed lunch.
  • Tea coffee and cake is provided.
  • Wear old clothes and rubber gloves (optional, but you will go home with blue hands)
