Easter Fun for Everyone!

Easter Fun for Everyone!

Have fun with the children’s activities in the museum and gardens.  Why not make a day of it in Olney?  Enjoy exploring Olney Town, with its beautiful buildings, gorgeous walks and wide variety of places to eat!

  • Educational trail £1 (5-10 year olds):    All about insects (includes a small prize)
  • Easter trail £2 – find the letters on the egg pictures around the garden to spell Easter words.  Collect a knitted chick with small chocolate egg from the Shop.
  • Free fun: Dress up in 18th century costumes and Easter colouring sheets.
  • So much to see inside the museum – 9 historic rooms full of fascinating 18th century artefacts that once belonged to William Cowper and his family.  Rooms dedicated to describing John Newton’s involvement in the Transatlantic Slave Trade and his life afterwards that led to his writing the world-renowned hymn ‘Amazing Grace’. Cowper’s counterpane is back!
  • Our Three Hares Art Gallery (on the third floor) – click here to see which talented artist we are featuring this month:  GALLERY
  • Two beautiful, tranquil gardens:  The Flower Garden and The Summer House Garden.  Unwind and listen to the birds.  You might be inspired to draw and paint, or even write a poem here as Cowper would have done 250 years ago.
  • You can eat your picnic in our gardens – we have plenty of benches.

Please note that we are open on Good Friday 18th April 2025
