250 Voices Performance at the Milton Keynes Community Choir Festival, Campbell Park

As part of the Amazing Grace 250 commemorations led by the Cowper & Newton Museum, choir leader, Craig McLeish, will be conducting a choir made up of 250 voices during the Milton Keynes Community Choir Festival on Saturday 17th June.

To take part in the 250 Voices performance, you will need to be available on the 17th June from 5pm to 6:30pm, with the view to performing at 6pm.

The 250 Voices will be singing an extract from the newly commissioned, Forever?, a new work for voice and chamber ensemble responding to the anniversary and to the different meanings Amazing Grace has for people in the 21st Century. The new work and programme has been commissioned by Cowper & Newton Museum with The Stables for Amazing Grace 250 and is supported using public funding by The National Lottery through Arts Council England and Milton Keynes City Council.

With text by celebrated poet and writer Rommi Smith and music by renowned baritone and composer Roderick Williams OBE, the world premiere will be performed by members of Chineke!, Europe’s first majority Black and ethnically diverse orchestra at The Stables on Saturday 22nd July (find out more and book your tickets to the world premiere here).
