Geoff Swindells

Geoff has 40 years experience of researching both his own and other people’s family histories and has been a member of the Bucks Family History Society for the whole of that period. With a particular interest and expertise in the 17th and 18th century , Geoff has considerable experience in transcribing documents from that period. .  He regularly volunteers with the Bucks Family History Society at The Bucks Archive in Aylesbury to support people in using archive materials for Family History Research.  Geoff is the Cowper & Newton Museum archivist and has an in-depth knowledge of the document archive and reference material.

Marion Swindells

Marion is the Museum lead volunteer for our Lacemakers Room and has done considerable research into the lives of the local lacemakers and lace trade. This has included tracing the family history of some of our old local lace makers.  Marion has written articles for Family Tree Magazine and given a talk to The Society of Genealogists on tracing Lacemaker ancestors. She has been researching her own family history for 30 years and also helps others in their family history research. Marion is a member of The Bucks Family History Society and has given talks on aspects of her own family history research to a variety of audiences.

Our Museum building remains CLOSED.  We are opening our gardens on limited entry.  The Cowper & Newton Museum gardens will be open to welcome you on Wednesday 5th August 10.30 – 12.15 and Saturday 8th August 10.30 – 12.15
