Midsummer Magic – An evening tour of the Garden

Midsummer Magic – An evening tour of the Garden

Our volunteer garden team leaders invite you to join them for a special summer evening tour of our 18th century Flower Garden and Summer House Garden.  Enjoy learning about the history of the gardens. Your guides will take you through the charmingly planted areas and you will learn about the plant species we take care of.  How does the museum manage the gardens?  What are the key features all about?  See William Cowper’s 18th century Summer House.  Ever wondered why he called it his ‘verse manufactory’?  Spot the town’s pump beside the pond and learn more about its story.  Discover how prolific writers William Cowper and John Newton used the gardens and Summer House during their residence in Olney.

This is a rare opportunity to explore our beautiful, tranquil gardens on a summer’s evening and not one to be missed!

Cost of tour: £10 to include a glass of wine.
An opportunity to purchase your annual pass too – only £10!
Spaces limited to 12 people. Book via info@cowperandnewtonmuseum.org.uk / ring 01234 711516 or ask in the Shop.
