Free Talk with Refreshments: A Fascinating Insight into Lace Bobbins and their Makers

Lace bobbins come in all shapes and sizes and, if you know the stories behind them, give a fascinating insight into the lives of the lace makers and the things that mattered to them.  Find out more about the stories behind some of the bobbins in our collection, from the bobbin makers, to terms of endearment and secret codes, to the gruesome hanging bobbins.

Standard garden admission applies and there is nothing extra to pay to attend this event. Free entry for annual pass holders. Free refreshments are provided. If you would like to attend, booking is advisable by emailing info@cowperandnewtonmuseum.org.uk.
