‘A Georgian Christmas’ display – festive decorations in our 18th century rooms that would have been on display in William Cowper’s day, 250 years ago.
Smell the fruity aromas and delicious spices that would have been used in the cooking. The Parlour would have been warm from the Yule Log blazing in the fire and highly decorated throughout including evergreen sprigs in the window panes… use your imagination to transport yourself back in time.
Children can enjoy a ‘Hunt the Slipper’ trail. Come into our warm and welcoming Shop to find a 12th Night Cake…. the beginning of your journey.
(Usual museum entrance fee applies/ children’s trail free).
All eyes are set to be on Olney in 2022 & 2023, when the town will be at the centre of commemorations to mark the 250th anniversary of one of the world’s most beloved hymns, ‘Amazing Grace’.
