Motoring Art

The Guild of Motoring Artists

Motoring Art – Book in for this exhibition featuring work from a variety of motoring artists, with a special Sunday Opening on 13th June coinciding with an Olney Classic Car Club run to the Cowper & Newton Museum.

A guild for automotive art, design and creative development

The Guild of Motoring Artists (GMA) began in 1986 as a group of professional and semi-professional artists including designers and engineers from the car industry (including Jaguar and Ford) who shared a common interest in automotive art. It has attracted some of the best and diverse automotive artists through its membership, exhibiting around the UK with invitational exhibitions in the USA. The membership is currently over 60 artists from around the world and is growing annually.

The range of media and styles applied is diverse including drawing, painting, printing, sculpture and digital. There is an equally comprehensive range of subject matter across two, three, four, multi-wheeled and caterpillar tracked vehicles, in all aspects of settings.

Many of the GMA members are also practicing artists within other guilds with aircraft, railway, shipping and wildlife themes or are working actively in the automotive design and product development sector. All of which has all added greatly to the guild’s inclusive and refreshing view of all aspects of the motor vehicle subject matter.

This exhibition will be even bigger and varied in 2022 when its June date coincides with Newport Pagnell and Olney Lions Motorama.
