During the Winter shut down there are moves afoot at the Cowper & Newton Museum to swap the Three Hares Gallery with the Lace Room. The project includes:
Gallery Manager David Purvis is excited about 2021. Having spent 2020 cancelling and rescheduling exhibitions, he is delighted that the new 2021 season is shaping up to be a creative showcase.
The space will be enlarged with the removal of the current storage space (behind the wall on the right). This will then reveal a 3rd window. All walls are being prepared for opportunities for more creative hanging of art work. Secured display units will also be available for use.
All eyes are set to be on Olney in 2023, when the town will be at the centre of commemorations to mark the 250th anniversary of one of the world’s most beloved hymns, ‘Amazing Grace’.
