‘The Gift of Stitch’

4th to 28th March, Tuesdays to Saturdays 11am to 4.30pm

An exhibition of work from local fabric & fibre craft groups from around MK City and Borough. Inspired by the return to the Cowper & Newton Museum of the newly conserved counterpane, gifted to William Cowper in 1790. Printed fabric pieces from it are likely to have been inspired by printed cottons from India

 

Westbury Fabric & Fibre Guild

WFFCG was formed to create a community of crafters providing opportunities to engage in the crafts you enjoy as well as learn different crafts from others.

South Asian Artistic Community (SAAC)

SAAC are a group of artists of South Asian heritage, based in Milton Keynes. They have come together to showcase their artwork jointly and support each other in this journey.

Mk Textile & Stitch (was Embroidery MK)

An independent embroidery, needlework and textile art group in Milton Keynes.

Middle Eastern Cultural Group

A multi-faith social resource for local people of Middle Eastern origin providing social and recreational activities

 

Supported by Culture MK, the cultural team of Milton Keynes City Council.

Our Museum building remains CLOSED.  We are opening our gardens on limited entry.  The Cowper & Newton Museum gardens will be open to welcome you on Wednesday 5th August 10.30 – 12.15 and Saturday 8th August 10.30 – 12.15
