DESCRIPTION:Pancake Race Day – open morning at the Cowper & Newton Museum\nWe’re back for the new season and so looking forward to welcoming you here!\nSee us out and about in costume enjoying Olney’s Pancake Race event today.\nDid you know that no one really knows the origins of the world famous Pancake Race at Olney, but it is a long and loved tradition in the town. Within the Museum collection are two hand bells. One is fragile and retired but the other still rings out loudly to start the race.\nOpen this morning:\n\nMuseum Shop with Pancake Race volunteer homemade gifts for sale!\nFlower Garden and Summer House Garden\nViper Barn with introductory video\nChildren’s trails\nCrafts and dressing up fun on the top floor for young children\n\nThe museum and gardens are open from 11am until 1:30pm until 3rd March when we’re open all day as usual.\nVolunteering opportunities!  Come and say hello to us!  If you are thinking of volunteering with us this year, pop into our shop to speak to our volunteers who will be able to tell you more about this rewarding role.\nOpening times today:  10am until 1:30pm at half the usual price, unless you would like to take this opportunity to purchase your annual pass for only £12.\nFor more details on Olney’s Pancake Race, please follow this link:  http://olneypancakerace.org/ ( http://olneypancakerace.org/ )\n
