DESCRIPTION:Christmas Museum History Tour by Candlelight\n(This date was originally 16th December – moved to 18th December due to unforeseen circumstances.  Our apologies for any inconvenience caused).\nEnjoy our light-hearted ‘Christmas History Tour by Candlelight’  –  Embrace the magic of the festive season where every corner of our rooms have a Christmassy feel.\nThis year marks Jane Austen’s 250th year – the famous English novelist of the 18th century.  Discover how William Cowper, Jane’s favourite poet, influenced three of her well-known novels.\n\nOur costumed tour guides will share their stories of 18th century domestic life through the intriguing lives of William Cowper and his friend, John Newton.  You will be welcomed by our volunteers in historic costume, and offered a complimentary glass of wine upon arrival.\nSpaces limited to 10 people.
